Il GdL si pone l’obiettivo di sostenere le istituzioni culturali e le persone che lavorano con la cultura a promuovere attività di ricerca, valorizzazione del patrimonio, divulgazione e advocacy sul genere, la sessualità e le differenze in chiave queer.

Queer Heritage and Collections Network

Il Queer Heritage and Collections Network è un network nel Regno Unito che sostiene la formazione, il networking e il supporto tra pari a chiunque lavori con il patrimonio culturale e le tematiche LGBTQIA+. Considerando gli obiettivi e le aree di interesse in comune con il GdL di ICOM Italia nel campo del patrimonio LGBTQIA+, le due organizzazioni intendono collaborare nella pianificazione, realizzazione e promozione di eventi significativi, nonché nella diffusione della ricerca su queste tematiche in ambito culturale. I partner fondatori di QHCN sono National Trust, Historic Royal Palaces, English Heritage, Research Centre for Museums and Galleries (Università di Leicester) e Historic England.

Bibliografia

La presente bibliografia è stata redatta dal Gruppo di Lavoro (GdL) di ICOM Italia “Genere e Diritti LGBTQ+” ed è il risultato di un primo lavoro di sistematizzazione della letteratura scientifica dedicata al rapporto tra le questioni di genere e queer e la museologia internazionale. Il documento rappresenta uno strumento di base per orientare l’approfondimento di queste tematiche ed è stato concepito per professionistə, ricercatorə e studentə. Il lavoro che il GdL sta attualmente portando avanti per redigere una bibliografia aggiornata è in corso di sviluppo, ma si è deciso di pubblicarne una versione preliminare dato l’interesse crescente verso tali argomenti.

La bibliografia è suddiviso in due macro-aree. La prima, più ampia, comprende riferimenti di carattere museologico pertinenti alla letteratura scientifica degli studi museali e degli studi sul patrimonio culturale in dialogo con gli studi di genere e queer. La seconda, invece, contiene una selezione di riferimenti correlati all’ambito più specifico degli studi di genere e queer. Questa sezione include una selezione di testi fondamentali pubblicati o prevalentemente tradotti in italiano e costituisce uno strumento di orientamento accessibile per acquisire una visione più approfondita sulle questioni di genere in relazione alle attuali trasformazioni sociali. Complessivamente, la letteratura riportata nel documento consente di approfondire il rapporto tra musei e queerness da diverse prospettive: concettuali, metodologiche, operative, curatoriali, di gestione, educazione, interpretazione e coinvolgimento delle comunità. Si evidenzia come questa area della museologia si sia sviluppata all’interno del più ampio riconoscimento del ruolo sociale dei musei e della loro responsabilità nel promuovere la giustizia sociale, abbandonando posizioni neutre.

Con questo lavoro ci auguriamo di agevolare lo studio di questi temi e lo sviluppo di pratiche queer nei musei.
